I'm pleased that you've selected these incredible photographs from Arthur Fellig (or Weegee as he is more commonly known) as it illustrates your topic excellently. I think the tabloid tradition of fast, “hot”, sensationalized crime scenes and acts of vulgarity that he adopts for his candid street photography helps to create worlds of time that whilst, on one hand, manipulate and deceive the viewer, also create a subjective experience that is perhaps more believable than that of his contemporaries.
